- TROUBLESHOOTING
-
- 1. If you have sound problems:
-
- * Make sure you have DirectX installed. If in doubt, run the Dx5eng.exe
- available from Microsoft or the Logicware ftp site at ftp://ftp.logicware.com/pub
-
- * Check if your sound card is currently supported by DirectX.
- Run Dxview.exe from ftp://ftp.logicware.com to check if DirectX even "sees"
- your sound card. If not, then re-install DirectX or contact your sound card
- vendor.
-
- * Are your speakers plugged in?
-
- * Do you have speakers?
-
- * Do you have a hearing problem? People who suffer from deafness cannot hear
- the game's audio tracks without a hearing aid or a miracle cure. Consult
- your doctor.
-
- 2. If you are having mouse problems:
-
- * Using a 3-button mouse requires the latest drivers from the vendor
-
- * If all else fails, configure as a two-button mouse,
- or keyboard only.
-
- * Astrorock does not use the mouse during game play, only for menu selection.
-
- 3. If Astrorock crashes unexpectedly with or without an error message:
-
- * Make sure your system meets the minimum system requirements for Astrorock
- (16 meg of memory, Soundblaster or DirectX compatible, Etc).
-
- * Is your hard drive full? Windows 95 hates that.
-
- 4. If you experience "Out of sync" errors when playing a network or modem game:
-
- * Hmmm, network play is not on the demo. You must buy Astrorock to kick
- your friend's butt.
-
- 5. Video problems? No video when the game starts?
-
- * DirectX 2.0 or higher is required. DirectX 5 available on the Logicware
- ftp site. Windows 98 has DirectX 5 build in.
-
- * Your video card must be capable of running in 640 by 480 pixels in 8 bit
- color.
-
- * Is your monitor plugged in?
-
